I recently made a move from Hiroshima, Japan to the United States moving my motorcycle, personal belongings, and two dogs that accompanied me on my plane ride home. Economove Japan made this move very easy and stress free for me.

Mr. Shinichi Shima was with me every step of the way through this procedure answering all of my questions and advising me on the steps required to make this move possible. It was a relief knowing that Economove has such a knowledgeable representative that was able to answer all of my questions while providing all the necessary documentation and able to explain everything in English.

The move that I made can be explained as a three phase process. The first hurdle was moving the motorcycle to Yokohama Port. Through the guidance given by Shima-san I was able to de-register the motorcycle and receive a temporary kanji plate to ride the motorcycle to the warehouse in Yokohama. Shima-san met me in the morning at the hotel where I lodged for the night and ensured that the motorcycle had all the required paperwork to pass the customs inspections and acted as a translator to have the motorcycle crated for the journey back to the U.S. After completing the drop off he even drove me to the train station ensuring my safe return to Hiroshima.

After returning to Hiroshima, I needed to order my boxes from Economove because I was doing a self-pack move. Shima-san made sure that I had all the documentation needed, such as inventory sheets, shipment stickers, special box tape, and the heavy duty boxes required because the boxes and motorcycle would be moving by ship. After everything was packed and taped I made a phone call to Shima-san and we arranged for a pick-up day. Everything worked well and pickup was made on schedule.

The third phase was the most stressful for me, having to move two dogs, but after going through the whole process I should not have worried because everything worked out just as Shima-san explained it to me. He gave me the proper paperwork that would need to be filled out by my local veterinarian and gave me direction as to what type of dog size kennel I would need for each of the dogs. The Economove website was also very helpful and it gave me valuable information that I would need for transporting the dogs into the United States.

To move the dogs, I needed to have proof of their most recent rabies shots documented by their doctor, the proper size and approved dog kennels for their journey on the plane, reservations for the dogs to ensure the cargo area of the plane would have enough space to accommodate the large containers, and a health check from the veterinarian in Tokyo proving that the dogs were healthy to travel on the plane. Shima-san stepped in again by not only gathering the above information for me but by also providing outstanding service by meeting me at the airport in Tokyo to transport the dogs to the health check center and also helped me move the dogs to the ticket counter within the airport after they passed the health check. From there it was an easy process picking the dogs up from the airport in Los Angeles and making the move to my final destination.

Shima-san continued to work the tracking of the shipment and informed me by e-mail when my personal items and motorcycle would arrive in Los Angeles before making their final destination to my hometown. He told me exactly how this process would work. When my shipment arrived I was able to pick up everything without any problems. With the help of relatives I was able to uncrate the motorcycle at the dry port and even rode my bike home!

I am so happy with the service provided by Economove Japan. I highly recommend this company for any foreigner that is deciding to make a move from Japan to their home country. I was faced with many challenges during this ordeal, especially not being fluent in Japanese, but Shima-san was with me from the start of my move to the finish, always answering all of my questions and providing a service that went above and beyond other moving companies that I have had experience with. Now I have all of my belongings with no damage at all and I am settling in at my new home in the United States.
