１）After having actually experienced moving your pet overseas, what were you worried about or struggled with?

A. This is my second time using economove japan. They seamlessly transported my momo-chan from Tokyo to Los Angeles this past January 2026 via cargo and the experience was so easy and flawless start to finish.

For this experience I was more nervous getting momo-chan back from LA to Tokyo as it is much stricter moving a pet into Japan. Luckily before we left Japan in January 2026 Shima-San made sure all of our rabies paperwork was in place so we didn't have any issues for our return trip.

２）Please tell us if there was an incident that helped you to alleviate your worries or concerns.

A.Economove JAPAN Staff Shima-san as always was incredibly thorough and communicated frequently and in detail about the process of getting momo-chan back to Japan. This alleviated all my worries.

３）Please let us know if there was anything in particular you paid attention to until the day of departure.

A.We were very lucky because in the US momo-chan is recognized as a service animal so she was able to fly in the cabin with me on United Airlines. Shima-san actually helped with directing us as to which airlines allowed pets in cabin for a smoother trip as once we got to Haneda and picked up our bags getting momo through quarantine and inspection was very fast and the staff at the airport was incredibly friendly and helpful during that process.

６）Please let us know if there are any points you think someone should pay attention when looking for a home that allows pets.

A.If bringing your pet into Japan there are many more rules compared to the US but there are many dog friendly restaurants with outdoor seating and some allow inside in azabujuban. Also it is wise to check hotels and airbnb's before to ensure they allow pets before booking. Also if you do have a service animal in the US they might not be considered a service animal in Japan so it is good to check and understand the rules before visiting.

９）Do you have any advice or messages for people who are considering moving their pets overseas?

A. Absolutely rely on Economove Japan they are the experts and best in moving pets abroad. My two experiences with them have been flawless and we will be using them in the future as we go back and forth between Tokyo and Los Angeles frequently.

When bringing a pet into Japan, the requirements can be considerably stricter than in some other countries. In particular, if the required rabies antibody titer test and related procedures have not been completed in advance, a pet may need to wait for 180 days or more before it can enter Japan. For this reason, whenever there is even a possibility that a client may return to Japan in the future, we always recommend preparing the necessary documentation and vaccination records in advance.
